Old homepage design of ZoDevelopment.com
Old homepage design of ZoDevelopment.com
Our client wanted a website full of Zoho tips and tricks to build a user community. The existing site lacked organization and was in need of a face lift. My job was improve how content is grouped and its appearance. I aimed to revamp the site to be more visually engaging as well as user-friendly, creating a hub where Zoho enthusiasts can easily share knowledge and collaborate.
I led the project as the only designer, with occasional project management assistance from my marketing manager.

Brand Guide

I began by defining the brand's visual identity, establishing key elements such as colors, typography, and social media graphics to maintain consistency across the website and social platforms. Given the nature of the website being article-based, prioritizing a clean design with generous white space and legible typography was crucial to enhance readability.

The sitemap played a crucial role in defining the website's organization. Initially, I identified various audience segments and their distinct purposes for visiting the site. Based on this analysis, I suggested categorizing articles into two main sections: thematic areas (such as HR, finance, etc.) and specific Zoho products. This approach aimed to make content discovery easier for users. Upon presenting this proposal to the client, it was approved, and I moved on to wireframing.

Wireframes

During the wireframing process, I utilized the AI tool Relume to assist me. It significantly reduced time by generating elements, such as navigations, that are straightforward but time-consuming to create. This efficiency helped cut down on my overall project time.

Build

I then built all the pages using WordPress. I utlizied layouts to neatly organize categories, so whenever a new category is added, a page is created automatically, making website upkeep very easy. Upon launch, I took on the responsibility of maintaining the website.
